    An unmissable event for the little ones and for the most curious on the streets of Madrid, during the Christmas period.

    From 23 November to 5 January in fact, the usual show of Cortylandia!

    A real party tradition in the Spanish capital.

    What is Cortylandia? A show of sounds, puppets, robots and lights on the façade of the shopping center English court downtown. Its protagonists come alive at specific times of the day to amaze and amuse the family audience that throngs on the square in front of the entrance. Theme, scenery and characters are different every year!



    Where is Cortylandia? It is located on the facade of the Corte Inglés de Preciados, on Celenque Square, a stone's throw from the Monasterio de las Descalzas Reales. To get there by metro you have to get off at Puerta del Sol, Preciados exit or at Callao on the Green Line.

    What are Cortylandia's opening hours?

    Monday to Friday: at 11, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 21:30. Saturday and Sunday: at 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 21:30.

    On 24 and 31 December: at 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19 and 19:30. At Christmas and New Year: at 17pm, 18pm, 19pm, and 20pm.

    The show lasts approx 15 minutes and it is completely free.



     

    And here is an old video of Cortylandia ... 1987 edition! The theme that year was "Gulliver's Travels". Since then the show has evolved every year with new technologies, styles and ideas… but the catchy song “Cortylandia, Cortylandia” is still the original one! ?
